If Naarm has a signature sound or style, it must surely include all the descriptors that come to mind when experiencing Hybrid Man. Not only does this delicious pair neatly encapsulate these sounds—dubby, downtempo electronic with a hint of techno—but also the attitude with which they approach music making: confident, groovy, danceable, technically proficient and made among and for community.

This hyper local duo who, unusually, formed their sound for live performance, have made the reverse journey to press production, on similarly localised labels Paper Cuts and Butter Sessions.

Nevertheless, playing live with all of the gear will always be their happy place and the truth remains that to experience Hybrid Man properly, it must be done the right way: in person, wholly present and within the sound.
